Besiktas are interested in a deal for forward Odion Ighalo when he leaves Manchester United at the end of the month.
Ighalo has been at Old Trafford since January last year when he joined on loan from Chinese side Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.
That deal was extended in the summer, but he has found himself increasingly out of the picture at the club after Manchester United brought in Edinson Cavani in the summer.
Indeed, the Nigerian forward has managed just one appearance in the Premier League this season, and, despite him wanting to stay, his loan deal is set to expire at the end of this month as a result.
He’s been hoping that another Premier League team would come in for him when he leaves Manchester United, but it is Besiktas in Turkey who are ready to swoop.
Sabah report that after the club failed to sign Mario Mandzukic, the Super Lig side will ‘present its offer’ to Ighalo in the near future.
Those in charge of the club are ready to press forward and secure a new striker, and Ighalo is on a two-man shortlist alongside Ahmed Kutucu.
Kutucu wants regular playing time, though, and so Ighalo ‘was suggested to Besiktas’ as a potential target as well.
A big problem is his wage packet, with the striker picking up €4m for six months in China, a price that Besiktas are unlikely to pay due to a limited budget.
Their plan is to offer Ighalo similar wages to what they were planning for Mandzukic, although what that figure is, isn’t mentioned.
