Here we are the beginning of a new season. But as True Detective’s Rust Cohle would say, ‘time is a flat circle’, and the old transfer rumours are making the headlines once again.
Gareth Bale has been linked to Manchester United since his time at Southampton, and things haven’t changed in over a decade.
Spanish outlet AS brings a new story saying the player is looking for a way out of Real Madrid, and the Red Devils would be one of the few options on his table.
Bale wasn’t supposed to act like this at this stage of the season, especially because he’s started all league games and has been doing well for the team.
But according to AS, he’s unhappy for being left out of the squad which faced Club Brugge in the Champions League last week. It’s claimed that although Zinedine Zidane said he had a knock, his entourage denies it.
Manchester United’s situation is said to be a reason why the club should make heavy signings in the coming windows, and given their history chasing Bale, they are one of the contenders.
The club are a ‘natural’ option.
The biggest problem for Bale’s departure is the annual salary of €14.5m (after tax) he has in Madrid. That’s why even if he accepts to reduce the demands, there are few clubs who can get close to it. Bayern Munich, MLS and China are said to be some of the other options.
