Red Bull Salzburg’s Amar Dedić has ended up on Manchester United’s agenda.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb journalist Niccolò Ceccarini, who mentions the Red Devils when discussing Napoli’s interest.
He says Manchester United are ‘making moves’ to sign the 22-year-old. They aren’t alone as the Serie A side are also in the running for his signature.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international prefers to operate as a right-back but can be used across the backline. He made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, of which five as a left-back and the rest on the right side of the defence.
Ceccarini claims the Austrian club’s ‘high demand’ is the ‘real problem’, without specifying whether that’s for both suitors or just Napoli. Dedić’s deal lasts until 2027, and Transfermarkt values him at €20m.
Manchester United strengthened the right-back position by signing Noussair Mazraoui in the summer window.
Erik ten Hag has used Diogo Dalot as a left-back due to injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. It may make sense for Manchester United to sign a recognised left-back who can operate in other positions instead of Dedić.
