AS Roma have been keeping an eye on Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria, but will reportedly face competition from Manchester United and other clubs to sign the 24-year-old.
Last Friday, we relayed news from Italy that the Red Devils and Manchester City are ‘watching’ the defensive midfielder.
Zakaria’s current deal will expire in 2022 and his situation with the Bundesliga side has resulted in interest from elsewhere.
According to Sportitalia, the ‘protagonist with Borussia Mönchengladbach’ is ‘attracting the attention of numerous clubs’. From Serie A, Roma, Inter Milan and Juventus are tagged.
Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari took to Twitter to provide an update about the clubs interested in the player.

He claims there’s been ‘new contact’ from the Old Lady and Manchester United for the transfer of the Switzerland international. City, meanwhile, are in the background.
Longari’s claims emerged a day after Bild reported Borussia Dortmund have the player on the transfer target list.
BVB, however, will face a ‘problem’ to sign Zakaria because he is currently inclined to move abroad, ‘preferably to the Premier League’.
