The minute it was announced, at least unofficially, that Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain would be parting ways at the end of the season, the idea of Premier League clubs getting involved was inevitable, with Manchester United and Liverpool brought into the mix.

That’s thanks to Le10 Sport in France, who claim the superstar has three offers on the table, with two of them being from the Red Devils and Anfield side.

The other, as you might have guessed, is from Real Madrid, who are by far and large the favourites to sign the Paris Saint-Germain, and expected to beat Manchester United and Liverpool to his signing.

All this doesn’t mean they won’t try and change his mind, at least according to Le10, who explain the Old Trafford were ‘the first’ to have joined the LaLiga side with an offer, as they ‘dream to be able to attract’ the striker to their club.

After all, ‘who best than the tricolour star’ to showcase the new ambition at Manchester United, who haven’t won the Premier League since 2013, but it’s made explicitly clear that their chances of getting Mbappé are ‘slim’.

As for Liverpool, they were the ‘last to try their luck’, as they have been dreaming about signing the forward for many years, spearheaded by Jürgen Klopp, who is said to have an ‘excellent relationship’ with the Frenchman.

However, with the German manager leaving at the end of the season, the project at Liverpool is ‘weakening’, as are the chances of convincing Mbappé to choose Merseyside over sunny Spain.

Real Madrid’s offer is said to ‘largely have the favours’ of the forward, and discussions will continue in the coming weeks to cross the t’s and dot the i’s on his contract, and it would take a ‘huge turnaround’ for him not to end up under Carlo Ancelotti next season.

Whether these offers from Manchester United and Liverpool ever really made their way to Mbappé, only he and his camp will know, but it was always expected that stories such as this one would appear despite everyone knowing where he would go.

Then again, much like asking your long-term crush on a date, the worst that can happen is them saying no, so why not give it a go?
