Barcelona are expected to face competition from Manchester United in the chase to sign Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich, according to AS.
The La Liga side showed keen interest in signing the midfielder in the summer but had to end that interest due to their delicate economic conditions.
Barca still have the 28-year-old on their agenda and will continue to monitor his situation. They are now reportedly joined by Manchester United.
Kimmich’s deal lasts until 2025 and it’s not clear where his future lies beyond this season. The Bayern star doesn’t have an agent and claims from Germany have stated he’s looking for a representative, indicating that he could be looking for a transfer next year.
AS relay that and then give their own take on this case. They say the Germany international has aroused interest from several clubs, including Barcelona.
It’s claimed Manchester United and Liverpool are the last two clubs to join the bidding for him. The report further adds both the Red Devils and the Merseyside club wouldn’t ‘frown upon making an offer’ to secure Kimmich’s services next summer.
Kimmich has managed a goal and six assists from 20 games this season.
