It seems that Inter Milan have really watched Matteo Darmian last night.
The scouting mission was first reported by Sport Media Set yesterday, and Tuttosport are confirming it in today’s edition.
The newspaper claims that Piero Ausilio, Giovanni Gardini and Stefano Pioli were the Inter men present at the San Siro for the friendly match against Germany.
As the scouting could be done at the club’s own stadium, it was a good excuse to have directors and the manager in the stands.
Tuttosport claims that Inter are confident they can reach a deal with Man United in January. The intention is to sign Darmian on a loan with an option to buy.
Darmian is said to be on Mourinho’s transfer list, and as the player doesn’t want to lose his spot in the national team, he sees Inter as a good option for now.
The 26-year-old is the Italian club’s priority for the position, so in the case Mourinho really wants to let him go, this transfer is likely to happen in January.
That said, surely the Inter officials would have been at the match regardless.
