Real Madrid are lining up a queue of their players at the exit door and waiting for clubs to come and take them to their new homes.
One of the men in question is Keylor Navas, and Onda Cero’s El Transistor programme has gone over the goalkeeper’s options. It’s explained ‘the most interested’ club is Manchester United, because it seems ‘De Gea is going to leave for Paris’.
If the current Manchester United goalkeeper doesn’t move to PSG, then it’s stated the French side will themselves ‘go for Navas’.
Whilst all this is confusing enough, the most recent French reports about David De Gea are even more so.
You may have seen claims in recent days about Canal+ reporting a PSG offer for the Spaniard.
‘Paris is looking for a top goalkeeper, world class. Buffon and Areola, in the eyes of the leaders and his coach are not. PSG will look for a free goalkeeper to keep transfer money for other tracks. It would be De Gea, which is more than ever on the shelves of PSG. They made an offer and seriously advanced on the record. There is one essential detail, that everyone does not know is whether Manchester United has activated its option for another year. If so, there will be no offer. Otherwise, according to our information, Paris has proposed €15m a year.’
Manchester United reported themselves in January that they’d be extending the goalkeeper’s contract. Even if they hadn’t, to think they wouldn’t is simply unfathomable.
Why would they allow him to leave for nothing when they could either keep him for a further year or sell him? It makes zero sense, and it’s a wonder the above claims ever managed to be formed, considered, and leave someone’s mouth.
If the Navas claims were based on that, and there’s a pretty good chance they were, then this one can be filed appropriately.
