Adrien Rabiot has been linked with Manchester United over the past few summer windows and continues to be named as the target for the next window.
The midfielder’s deal lasts until the end of June and Juventus are keen on renewing his contract. The front page of today’s Tuttosport says the Serie A side are ‘in a corner’ because of the Red Devils’ interest.
Within the report, it’s claimed Manchester United ‘increase the pressure’ to sign the 29-year-old in the summer window.
For Manchester United, the situation is said to be different this time when compared to the last few years because they can sign the player for free, if Juve fail to tie him down to a new deal in the next few weeks.
The France international currently earns €7m after tax per year and Juve technical director Cristiano Giuntoli’s main objective is to renew his deal with a lower salary. Taking all these factors into account, the report states it’ll be a difficult negotiation.
Massimiliano Allegri is currently in charge at Juve and recent claims have said Thiago Motta is expected to replace him. Rabiot knows the latter from their time at PSG and would be open to playing under his orders.
However, it’s not certain that Motta will arrive at Juve as he’s been chased by other clubs.
This can allow Manchester United to try to sign Rabiot for free and Tuttosport relay claims made elsewhere that the Red Devils are ready to make a concrete effort to sign him.
