Manchester United are one of the Premier League clubs who have the chance to sign Emil Forsberg in the summer window, reports this week’s edition of SportBild.
Frustrated at RB Leipzig under Julian Nagelsmann, the Sweden international wants a fresh challenge and has decided the Premier League would be a good step.
At 28 years of age and with a year left on his current contract, the price is put at around €20m, which wouldn’t be a problem for Manchester United or any of the other clubs linked.
Tottenham, Arsenal, Leicester and Everton are all listed as having been given the opportunity to move for Forsberg, with him being ‘massively offered’ to Premier League clubs.
Given he plays mainly on the left and in attacking midfield, it’s not clear there’s a space for him at Old Trafford. Bruno Fernandes was signed in the summer window, and there’s always the chance Paul Pogba could stay beyond the season.
Then there’s other, wider, options for the left such as Anthony Martial and Daniel James, and it becomes difficult to see a real place for Forsberg unless there’s exits.
On top of that, the player is known to get frustrated when he doesn’t start games regularly, so perhaps wouldn’t be the best idea for a rotation option.
