On February 8th, Calciomercato.it reported that Juventus could be open to the idea of allowing Douglas Costa to leave after this season.

It was also explained that Manchester United and Chelsea could be the winger’s next possible destination in the summer.

Another Italian website il BiancoNero brings an update on the 28-year-old and his lacklustre season.

Due to issues on and off the pitch, Massimiliano Allegri no longer considers the Brazilian as an essential player and the evaluations are going on for the possibility of a transfer later this year.

This is when the report mentions that from Manchester, the ‘sirens of the market’ continue to resonate with Manchester City and the Red Devils both in the mix to sign Costa.

It is further claimed that Manchester United are set to get ‘serious’ for Costa, but the transfer will depend on how things develop in the coming weeks with the South American.

Maybe this is wishful thinking on behalf of Juventus. They’ll want a big fee, regardless of their player losing status, and it would be quite convenient for one of the Manchester clubs to rock up offering it.
