Barcelona have long been linked with Adrien Rabiot, whose contract at Paris Saint-Germain runs down after this season.

Last week, we covered a report from Mundo Deportivo, who claimed the midfielder ‘does not give signs’ that he wants to join Ernesto Valverde’s side.

There are other clubs believed to be interested in the Frenchman and in the winter market, the Ligue 1 winners wanted to offload him rather than allowing him to leave for nothing, but those efforts went in vain as the 23-year-old is still at Parc des Princes.

Tottenham Hotspur were one of the clubs who were looking at the possibility of adding the Frenchman to their squad in January, according to Le10 Sport. The deal didn’t take shape because Rabiot ‘said no to Spurs’.

If there was any possibility the north London club would still be chasing the PSG contract rebel with a hope that they could land Rabiot on a free transfer, then it is unlikely to happen because the Premier League side are ‘largely distanced’ in the race to sign him in the summer.

Le10 Sport says the only favoured option for Tottenham is to look elsewhere in the market, while AS in Spain reported that Manchester United and Bayern Munich appear to be in the race for Rabiot.
