Last night, we saw ESPN Argentina’s website bring an important update on the Edinson Cavani saga, with a source claiming the striker’s move from Manchester United to Boca Juniors was now ‘closer than ever’.
Their report brought details of the player’s contract with the Red Devils, claiming this is a crucial time for his decision to return to South America at the end of the season.
So it’s no surprise that ESPN had some comments on the rumour on TV later on, with journalists commenting on Boca Juniors’ chances live on their F90 show.
“Boca are going to wait for him to solve his situation with Manchester United, but today he’s the only name they have in the portfolio, there is no other,” he said.
“They are working silently. The player wants to play the Copa América and he is also evaluating personal and family issues.”
Diego Monroig, who covers Boca Juniors daily, used to give it a 50% chance that Cavani would make the transfer, but last night he received a message during the show and changed his prediction to 60%.
ESPN also highlights that pundit Damián Manusovich is ‘very confident’ that the transfer will happen.
