Manchester United are interested in Benfica’s Kerem Aktürkoğlu and ready to make a move for the 25-year-old.
That’s according to Fichajes, who say Manchester United are watching Aktürkoğlu closely after his bright start to life in Portugal.
The 25-year-old joined Benfica in a €12m deal from Galatasaray this summer and has made an instant impact at the club, with four goals and two assists in five games in all competitions to date.
That’s quickly put him on the radar of big European clubs and Manchester United are one of them according to Fichajes.
They like is ability to ‘break through’ and ‘create danger in attack’ and they are the most interested side in him at this moment in time.
They’ve been impressed by how Aktürkoğlu has quickly established himself in Portuguese football after a record of 46 goals and 42 assists in 179 games for Galatasaray.
They’re now showing serious interest in signing him and there is even talk of a €40m offer to convince Benfica into an early sale.
Now, given the source of the rumour we’ll have to take it with a massive pinch of salt and plenty of details within also raise eyebrows.
For instance, it is very unlikely Manchester United are spending €40m on anyone after their big summer rebuild and certainly not on someone who only cost €12m at the beginning of September.
It would also be odd for them to sign another winger when they have Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Antony already and struggle to rotate them effectively.
Thus, this one seems a little unlikely and more Manchester United being thrown in randomly thanks to Aktürkoğlu doing well in Portugal early on.
