Manchester United are eager to ‘get rid’ of Antony Martial in the January transfer window and may be handed a chance to do so by Inter Milan.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the Manchester United man is being monitored by the Italians.
The newspaper explains that Inter want to strengthen up front in the coming weeks although for any decisive attack to happen they need the approval of their owners first.
Even then only a loan deal is likely to be sanctioned, limiting the pool of options considerably, but they are pushing ahead regardless and trying to get someone wrapped up quickly.
The ideal situation would be a loan with an obligation to buy for an overall valuation of a player between €8-10m.
Several options are being looked at, including Martial, whose contract with Manchester United expires in June which means he could be available for a low price.
Indeed, Manchester United ‘want to get rid of him’ in January and Inter chief Piero Ausilio ‘has always liked his profile’ even if his trajectory has been ‘downwards’ for some time.
Thus, all the pieces are there for a deal to be done, if Inter get approval to make moves to bolster Simone Inzaghi’s squad in the coming weeks.
