It appears that Manchester United are still in the business of buying a new centre-back, and that man could be Jean-Clair Todibo.

That’s what Sacha Tavolieri is reporting on Monday, as he brings the news to Twitter on Monday afternoon.

With the future of Harry Maguire up in the air after Erik ten Hag decided to give the captain’s armband to Bruno Fernandes, there has been talk of a replacement coming in and the England international leaving.

Axel Disasi was followed for a long time, but Chelsea pulled the trigger to get a deal done quickly after Wesley Fofana’s latest injury, leaving Todibo as an option for Manchester United.

According to the journalist, it’s said that the ‘most concrete option’ for the centre-back to leave OGC Nice at this moment in time is a move to Old Trafford.

It’s added that Manchester United are turning their attention to him in case Maguire were to leave the Red Devils in the coming weeks.

This certainly isn’t the first time that the Premier League side have been linked with Todibo, with their interest dating back a while, as Sport Witness’ archive has articles dating back to 2018 regarding it.

The latest did come this year, as it was stated that Ten Hag had both Todibo and Disasi on his list, and with the latter gone, we’re now onto the former.
