As we continue to cover the reports from Ecuador regarding the future of Moisés Caicedo, we keep seeing conflicting information from local sources.
At the weekend, newspaper El Diário brought a story saying Independiente Del Valle are now demanding €10m for the midfielder’s transfer, and an agreement with Manchester United is still to be reached.
However, we now see another take coming from journalist Pipe Sierra. He claims that the deal is in the Red Devils’ hands.
Sierra writes that Manchester United are still ‘very close’ to making the signing. The fee, contract, passport and personal terms are not a problem, and the Premier League side only need to step forward to finalise things.
Something interesting also comes from Portugal today, as Mais Futebol managed an interview with Renato Paiva, who’s set to become Independiente Del Valle’s next coach.
Even though the outlet didn’t make a direct question about Caicedo, the manager was simply speaking of good Ecuadorian players, and mentioned that the midfielder is being negotiated with a Premier League club.
“Moisés Caicedo, who is being negotiated for [a move to] England, is 19 years old, he’s a starter of Ecuador’s first team and product of the school of Independiente, as is Plata and a kid who’s now been sold to the Belgians of Genk,” he said.
