Ousmane Dembele’s situation at Barcelona is expected to be resolved before the window closes, despite a move not looking imminent to any club.
Having refused to sign a renewal with the Blaugrana, the Frenchman has been told to find himself a new club before the window closes. There’s not thought to be any way around that, or a reasonable chance of a renewal, and the signing of Adama Traore shows that Barcelona are moving on without the player.
Marca report Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United are considering a move before the window closes, with Manchester City having ruled themselves out of the running.
It’s even stated Dembele could move on loan until the end of the season, despite his contract at Camp Nou expiring. That would see the Catalan club free themselves of his wages for the rest of the contract, and potentially pick up a loan fee.
The player’s agent is said to be working on the English market, and that’s presumably seen him approach Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United. PSG is an option, and Manchester City have ruled themselves out.
None of the clubs mentioned seem to be making serious efforts to complete a deal at this stage.
