FC Nordsjaelland youngster Kamaldeen Sulemana is still expected to join Ajax, but Manchester United are looking at hijacking the deal.
That’s according to Voetbal International, relayed by Soccer News, who say United are ‘charmed’ by the youngster and want to steal him from the Dutch giant’s grasp.
They explain that Ajax’s move for Steven Berghuis does not change their plans for Sulemana, and they are still trying to finalise a deal for him.
The 19-year-old striker travelled to the club last week for a tour, and the ‘expectation’ is that a deal will be finalised in the short term.
However, there are ‘hijackers on the coast’, and one of them is Manchester United, who are ‘also charmed’ by Sulemana and want to take him to Old Trafford.
This is something we saw reported over the weekend; with Manchester United first-named among the ‘most serious suitors’ for Sulemana before in the Netherlands, it was openly stated that they were trying to beat Ajax to the punch.
VI continue that theme today and make it clear it’s very possible, although there is still clearly a sense at Ajax that they are at the front of the queue.
That could all change very quickly, of course, particularly as Rennes are interested too, according to Ouest France.
That adds another element to an already tricky situation, and Manchester United may want to move fast and decisively if they wish to come out on top.
