Flamengo are carrying on with the permanent signing of Andreas Pereira from Manchester United, according to the latest claims from Brazil.
Despite the reports and comments saying the Rio de Janeiro side could give up on the agreement with the Red Devils, Globo Esporte now comes up to say the club are not backing down.
Flamengo have a legal issue going on, as the Central Back froze their assets due to tax issues from signings made in the 90s, and they can’t make signings while they appeal.
However, Manchester United are aware of the problem and have been ‘comprehensive’ about it. The Red Devils ‘have already sent signed documents’ for the transfer and continue to wait for the Brazilian club to make it official.
According to Globo Esporte, Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim told Andreas Pereira his signing is confirmed and showed the wish of having him at the club ‘for many years’.
Despite the buying option worth €20m, reports from Brazil have been claiming the agreement between the clubs is for half of that amount.
Pereira is loaned to Flamengo until the end of June, so that’s the deadline for the signing.
