Manchester United youngster Álvaro Fernández is a potential target for Real Betis having been ‘noted for some time’ by the Spanish club.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the 20-year-old is a potential option for the club as they continue to build this summer.

The newspaper reports that Fernández has found himself in the spotlight of several Premier League and La Liga clubs this summer and Betis are among the latter.

He’s been playing youth football for Manchester United since being secured by them three years ago and has returned to Old Trafford this summer following a loan spell at Preston last season.

That deal was his ‘consecration’ as he established himself as first choice for the Championship side and managed four assists in 2651 minutes of football.

The chance of first-team football at Manchester United this season is slim thanks to competition from Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and even Brandon Williams and so he ‘envisions’ another loan move for himself.

Betis have him ‘on the agenda’ in case there are movements in their own squad, naturally around their current left-back options Juan Miranda and Abner.

The latter could leave on loan, leaving space for them to move for Fernández, who seems keen on another temporary exit from Manchester United to help continue his development.
