Manchester City’s Txiki Begiristain used the chance of an FA Cup semi-final to begin informal discussions about signing Hector Bellerin, report Mundo Deportivo on Tuesday.
Pep Guardiola’s men may have lost to Arsenal, but Mundo Deportivo explain Bellerin’s representatives were at the match and Txiki held ‘informal’ talks with them about a Manchester City transfer.
The Catalan newspaper suggest it’s all part of a City and Txiki attempt to follow Barcelona transfers, and see if they can swoop in to beat the blaugrana. Manchester City are said to have made their interest in Bellerin clear, but they’re unlikely to succeed.
As always, Mundo Deportivo believe Barcelona would be Bellerin’s first choice. Manchester City are further weakened by Bellerin’s insistence that if he leaves Arsenal it won’t be for another Premier League club.
There doesn’t appear to be a great deal of update on Barcelona’s chase of the Arsenal player.
As far as Mundo Deportivo are concerned, the situation remains that Barcelona want to sign Hector Bellerin, but are aware a transfer will be difficult.
