It’s Hector Bellerin Day in the Catalan media, once again, with the Arsenal player on the front covers of both Mundo Deportivo and Sport. There’s various different slants on the transfer story, but the gist is that Barcelona still very much want the player and the chase isn’t over yet.
Sport believe Barcelona are looking at alternatives to the Arsenal man, such is the difficulty of the deal, but they’re clearly not convinced as, just four pages in, they state a case for a signing becoming easier.
The ‘chaos’ at Arsenal is beneficial for Barcelona, according to the Catalan newspaper, and could lead to a Bellerin exit. Arsenal are in a ‘deep sporting crisis’, it’s explained, and it’s not what Bellerin expected when he signed his renewal with the club.
The fullback’s recent bench-warming role is also a factor for Sport, and they believe the transfer isn’t as impossible as it once seemed. A fee is put at ‘not so much over €40m’.
With other players said to be ‘dreaming’ of an exit and ‘fans on the warpath’, Sport believe it could be Barcelona’s time to snatch Bellerin.
