20 year old Oleksandr Zinchenko joined Manchester City as a big talent of Ukrainian football, shortly after he was selected for Euro 2016. He was already on the radar of big clubs, but Manchester City were the most determined to get his signature.
However, Pep Guardiola didn’t plan to give Zinchenko any playing time immediately, and subsequently last season Zinchenko departed for a loan spell with PSV Eindhoven.
After he returned to Manchester this summer, the media immediately speculated he could again leave Manchester City on loan during this transfer window.
Napoli have been showing an interest in the playmaker, according to Russian outlet Sport Express. They claim Zinchenko could sign for the Serie A side on loan, with a right of redemption of €10m.
However, Sport Express have reported Napoli have had to suspend negotiations to sign Zinchenko because Emanuele Giaccherini’s planned transfer to Sparta Prague has seemingly fallen through. The Manchester City youngster was destined to replace the former Sunderland player.
