Earlier on Tuesday, reports from the Argentine media claimed that Manchester City have found an agreement with Boca Juniors star Valentin Barco.
It was claimed that following a verbal agreement with the fullback, the Premier League side had sent representatives to deal with the South American club.
Even though the news was well covered in Argentina, few outlets managed to bring an update. One of them is Infobae, and they actually have something exciting for Manchester City fans.
The club’s resistance to a sale this summer had been due to their Copa Libertadores campaign. They’re now qualified for the semi-finals and didn’t want to lose the player in the middle of the competition.
That was also the reason for Barco not to force a way out, but now he’s said to be convinced to ‘say goodbye’ to his club.
The fullback is protected by a US$10m release clause, and reports have been claiming that Manchester City would even accept paying more to get him signed.
