Understandably the Argentine press aren’t very happy. Through the night the national team lost 3-0 to Brazil in Belo Horizonte, and their World Cup Qualifying campaign is a mess so far.

Manchester City players have come in for some flak. This time Sergio Aguero didn’t start the match, making it harder for him to miss a penalty, but Nicolas Otamendi and Pablo Zabaleta were in the starting eleven.

Along with Javier Mascherano, Manchester City’s Otamendi got the worst rating for Argentina, with Ole giving him just 2 out of 10. Zabaleta didn’t get much better, the defender being given a 3. Aguero, who had hoped a number change ahead of the match could bring luck, managed a 4 after coming on as a substitute.

Argentina are currently sixth in the South American World Cup Qualifying group. Only the top four automatically go through, and the team in fifth faces a play-off.

Brazil are top on 24 points, Argentina have 16. Perhaps even more striking, Brazil have a goal difference of +17, whilst Argentina’s is -1.

It wasn’t all bad news for Manchester City. Gabriel Jesus, set to arrive at the club in January, led the line for Brazil and got 8, the youngster looks increasingly a great buy, despite some issues over the second half of the Brazilian season.

Pep Guardiola will have surely been keen to watch the match, and will be enthused about Gabriel being the future. Unfortunately, Guardiola favourite Fernandinho only got a 5.
