It’s been a couple of months since Pep Guardiola started working at Manchester City, but his philosophies are still something very commented on when players go on international duty.
Pablo Zabaleta has arrived for Argentina’s World Cup Qualifiers games, and of course, he was mostly asked about the Catalan manager’s work at the club.
Speaking to TyC Sports, the player said: “You always want and you dream to be trained by the best coaches, and today I have the opportunity to work with one of the best. Actually, you learn a lot, especially by the way he lives it. Beyond knowledge, his passion for football.”
“He forces us to have breakfast together at the club, and lunch right after the training sessions. He cuts the internet, our dressing room is below a three-floor building, we can’t even connect to the 3G. We’re incommunicable.”
Pablo Zabaleta is set to be part of a complete Premier League back five, alongside Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo from Manchester United, plus Ramiro Funes Mori from Everton and Nicolas Otamendi from Manchester City.
Argentina are facing Peru away on Thursday and Paraguay at home on Tuesday. They are currently in third place on the table, only behind Uruguay, and tied with Brazil on 15 points.
Four national teams get straight qualification for the World Cup, and the fifth placed team goes to the play-offs stage.
