Bernardo Silva is not only one of the best footballers in the Premier League right now, he’s also one of the most likeable.

The Manchester City player is often happy to speak to the media in his own country, and that includes when he just pops back to Portugal for a quick break.

There this week to watch the tennis tournament in Estoril, he told Record that he’s always liked the sport, having played it as a youngster.

But the Portuguese newspaper obviously didn’t just want to ask about tennis, so Bernardo was quizzed on interest from Barcelona.

There certainly hasn’t been a string of links in the Catalan media, so it probably wouldn’t be much for Manchester City to worry about anyway, but Bernardo made sure there’s no doubt around his future.

The 24 year old told Record: “I do not think about it, I just renewed my contract with Manchester City, and after this season I have another three years of contract. I am very happy in Manchester.”

That should be the end of Barcelona links, any which existed, for a while.

On the Premier League title race, he said everything relies on City now, and whilst ‘the pressure is great’, he and his teammates are used to it.

Bruno Fernandes, said to be the subject of an imminent Manchester City offer, was also in Estoril and was pictured with Bernardo Silva.
