On Wednesday, Marca came out with a surprise report that a deal to take Manchester City star Bernardo Silva to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal is ‘practically closed’.
This claim has been related by Foot Mercato, who then give their own take on the 28-year-old’s plans for his future.
They insist a deal to take the Manchester City player to Saudi Arabia is nowhere close because he’s ‘not convinced’ about the idea of moving to Middle East.
The Portugal international would favour a move to Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain as these are the two clubs that have been after him for several months. The La Liga side reportedly wanted him last summer but couldn’t strike an agreement with Pep Guardiola’s side.
Barca are going through a difficult financial situation and it would make it complicated for them to sign the former Benfica man in this window.
PSG, for their part, are trying to find the right formula to convince Manchester City. Foot Mercato say they have already offered Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma to the Citizens as part of the deal for Silva.
Silva was a regular in Manchester City’s treble winning season, managing seven goals and eight assists from 55 games.
