Wednesday’s edition of Sport has another big article on Barcelona working to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City.
According to the Catalan newspaper the Portugal international is ‘getting closer’ to moving to the Camp Nou, and there’s now ‘optimism’ that the move can happen.
Barcelona’s economic levers, which are basically loans secured on future income repackaged to sound like financial genius rather than recklessness, have enabled them to bring in a chunk of money this summer and carry signings that few thought possible.
Despite all of that there’s no mention of what transfer fee would be required, and it’s again explained that Frenkie de Jong would need to leave before Bernardo Silva could arrive.
That’s a lot of work to do before Barcelona play their first game on August 13th.
