Manchester City have put a ‘galactic price’ of €80m on Bernardo Silva and will not lower this figure despite interest.
That’s according to AS, who say the figure is ‘non-negotiable’ and therefore puts the Portuguese star out of Barcelona’s reach.
The newspaper explains that Pep Guardiola does not want to lose an important asset this summer, and even though Silva would be happy to leave Manchester City for the Catalan side, the club have made it clear he won’t leave on the cheap.
Barcelona are admirers of the player and have eyed him as a replacement for Frenkie de Jong should he leave this summer.
Because of this, Manchester City have put an €80m price on the midfielder and will not go below this figure in potential negotiations.
With that in mind, Barcelona consider the arrival of the Portugal international as ‘impossible’, despite the player being willing to make the switch.
Without a discount, any transfer is ‘very complicated’ although Jorge Mendes continues to keep them updated on the situation.
He’s working to ‘facilitate the operation’, but they believe that Manchester City will not make it easy. Furthermore, they are not interested in any Barcelona player to bring the price down.
