Young Metz midfielder Vincent Thill has caught the attention of several top European clubs. The 16-year-old was wanted by Bayern Munich last season, but opted to stay at the Ligue 1 side.
Thill has been promoted to the senior team, and he made his debut in a 3-0 defeat to Bordeaux in September.
According to French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche, Manchester City and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the Metz midfielder.
Thill has already made four appearances for Luxembourg’s national team, and it’s reported Manchester City sent scouts to watch the 16-year-old against Sweden.
Thill’s agent, Denis Schaeffer, has been speaking to the French newspaper, and he insists the midfielder has the talent to go all the way to the top of the game.
He said: “He has the potential to play for a Top 5 European club one day. For now, this is just buzz about a recruiter from a big foreign club. It will exist in Ligue 1, for sure.”
At just 16 years of age, and getting games, Thill may well be best staying where he is, for at least a while longer yet.
