Friday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport seem pretty convinced that Manchester City are after AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Since the arrival of Pep Guardiola, the club’s goalkeeper situation has been a major talking point, with the Spaniard deciding against keeping Joe Hart, swiftly sent on loan to Torino, while the arrival of Claudio Bravo from Barcelona didn’t exactly go to plan.

Preferring to trust Willy Caballero in goal for now after the Chilean shot stopper failed to, well, stop shots, Guardiola has targeted the young Italian to sort out the position once and for all.

Corriere explain that Manchester City are prepared to sign Donnarumma ‘at any cost’ this summer, with Premier League side even agreeing to match Mino Raiola’s demands of €5m/year (around £83k/week) for his client.

Considering AC Milan are said to only be willing to offer half of that to their starlet, it might be hard, despite his dear love for his childhood club, for the 18-year-old to not follow the money.

With a contract running out in 2018, the young goalkeeper might have a big decision to make this summer, and a lot could rest on whether or not the Serie A side get taken over before the end of the season.

If they do, then money won’t be as much of a problem any more, but if they don’t, they’ll have some books to balance, and if Manchester City make an ‘astronomical’ offer for Donnarumma, it might be very hard to turn it down.
