RB Leipzig will demand €50m+ for Manchester City defender Angeliño should he complete a permanent move to the club.
Angeliño is currently on loan with the German side, having extended his deal from last January in the summer.
He’s continued to impress under Julien Nagelsmann, becoming a key player for the club with a series of impressive performances that have him on the brink of a Spain call up.
His loan deal from Manchester City includes a clause that will see it become permanent for €20m once he plays five games in the second half of the season, which is looking extremely likely at this point.
How long he remains at Leipzig, though, remains to be seen as his performances have not gone unnoticed back in Spain and Barcelona are said to be keen as they hunt a potential long-term replacement for David Alaba.
Should they get serious about a move, RB are likely to remain firm, though, and ‘would not even flinch’ at anything below €50m according to SportBILD.
If it does happen, Angeliño would be left with a tough choice, with his wife and son currently living in Barcelona but the player insisting he is not homesick or wanting a return.
Either way, such a deal would represent a massive profit for the Bundesliga side, who have become quite adept at such business over the last few years.
For now, the player will simply continue shining for Leipzig and trying to get into the Spain squad, with there growing annoyance that Luis Enrique has not given him a call up despite the player being in better form than his competitors in the position.
Manchester City, meanwhile, will surely be keeping a close eye on the situation with it looking very likely that they’ll be pocketing that €20m sooner rather than later.
