Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne should stay with the club next season and then think about a move to Saudi Arabia.

That’s according to analyst Marc Degryse, who believes it would be unwise for the Manchester City icon to leave the club this summer for a move to the Middle East.

Several reports have indicated that Saudi Arabian clubs have turned their interest to De Bruyne this summer as they continue to spend money to bring the biggest stars to their league.

The belief is that they will continue that this summer but change tact somewhat, targeting big-name players who are in the peak of their careers rather than those coming towards the end.

De Bruyne is one such player and he has been publically flirting with the idea of a move for months, admitting that he would be open to the idea simply because of the finances involved for himself and his family.

That has very much opened the door for the Manchester City man to leave and bring his successful, trophy-laden spell at the Etihad to an end.

Degryse believes that would be a major mistake, though, and he should instead stay for another year before departing.

“If he’s smart, he’ll stay another year,” Voetbalkrant report him saying.

“Then the Saudis will not have to pay anything to City, and he will be able to earn a lot more.

“A lot of people think he shouldn’t do it. But it concerns such enormous amounts… I understand him. He hasn’t played much this season, but that one year can certainly be added.”
