Manchester City will look to invest on a new striker in the next window after failing to sign a striker last summer.
Ever since Mino Raiola admitted the Premier League winners could be an option for Erling Haaland, the Citizens continue to get linked with the Borussia Dortmund star.
Two days ago, Mundo Deportivo stated Pep Guardiola’s side and Barcelona are the ‘most interested’ clubs for the 21-year-old. This came out days after De Telegraaf stated the La Liga side’s delegation, led by president Joan Laporta, met Raiola in Monaco.
According to Deportes Cuatro, Laporta has made the Norway international his priority target in the summer.
It’s claimed the La Liga side have made a five-year offer to the Norway international that includes a gross salary of €190m. Raiola, however, ‘prefers a contract of three plus two seasons’.
Xavi’s side are not alone as City, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich ‘have options to take’ the attacker in the summer.
Despite the likes of Guardiola’s side and other clubs being still in the mix, the report says Barca are convinced the Norwegian will join them in the next market. He already has the offer from the Blaugrana and will take a decision on his future in the coming weeks.
In addition to this, the super-agent has informed both Haaland’s father and Laporta the BVB striker ‘must play’ for the Spanish club.
Deportes Cuatro adds the Barca president ‘starts with an advantage’ over other suitors like Manchester City because of his friendship with Raiola. They add the chief will ‘play that trick until the end’.
Both Laporta and Xavi ‘will do everything’ to bring Haaland to Barcelona, but are aware they must battle with other clubs for his signature.
Haaland has managed 23 goals in all competitions this season with Dortmund. With all these top clubs showing interest to sign him, it’ll be interesting to see where he will play next season.
