With Manchester City recently linked to a couple of Porto players, it seems they’re now watching the Dragons up close.
As newspaper O Jogo today reports the list of scouts who attended the match between Porto and Vitória Guimarães this week, it’s said Pep Guardiola’s side were represented there.
The outlet brings no information on who Manchester City were specifically watching, just pointing out that their emissaries were present at the Estádio do Dragão.
One of the Porto players recently linked to the English club is Alan Varela. It was claimed that they’re making a ‘profile evaluation’ while they decide whether to advance for his signing in the summer.
The Argentine player had a decent performance in the Dragons’ 3-1 win, doing a good job in defence and taking few risks in attack. He’s protected by a €70m release clause.
Manchester City have recently been linked to another Porto player of the same name. That’s Cardoso Varela, a 15-year-old who’s still to make his official debut. Now the only chance to scout him is in case the emissaries watch a UEFA Youth League match.
