Manchester City and Pep Guardiola are ‘keen on’ Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala who is ‘severely underpaid’ by the German giants.

That’s according to SportBILD, who continued to present Manchester City as a potential option for Musiala should he decide to leave Bayern in future.

The newspaper covers the midfielder today and the fact that Real Madrid have added him to their list of potential targets if they cannot sign Kylian Mbappé.

They explain that Musiala’s value continues to rise at this moment in time and he is currently the most expensively rated Bundesliga player on Transfermarkt.

It is because Bayern are trying desperately to extend his contract, with his current deal expiring in 2026 but the player ‘severely underpaid’ at €8m a year.

If they want to keep him, they will have to triple his salary and make him one of the big earners in the squad but Musiala has other issues he needs fixing before he will commit.

He needs to be a permanent fixture in Thomas Tuchel’s first team, which has started to happen in recent weeks, while he also wants to be guaranteed trophies and a shot at the Champions League and personal accolades.

He’s not thinking about his future at present but knows he has ‘many options’ outside of Germany that can offer him those things and Manchester City are one of them.

They, alongside Pep Guardiola, are ‘keen on the playmaker’ and see him as the ‘legitimate successor’ to Kevin de Bruyne. They could also easily offer him a significant wage increase and last season’s treble shows that the trophies Musiala wants to win would be on offer at the Etihad too.

That makes them one of the ‘possibilities’ for Musiala, who can choose ‘where his future lies’ and very much has Manchester City on the table of options in front of him.
