Just last month, we covered a couple of stories from South America which revealed interest from Manchester City’s owners in Liverpool Montevideo youngster Luciano Rodriguez.
With the City Group keeping a close watch on South America, it was they could soon be bidding for the Uruguayan side’s starlet.
Now as AS shares a fresh piece on the 20-year-old’s future, it seems clear that Manchester City are about to have some big competition for this signing.
The outlet writes that a ‘rain of offers’ is expected for Rodriguez, with the City Group and Palmeiras named as some of those who could place their bids soon.
It’s said that even though he had a failed transfer to Feyenoord, everything is now ready for him to leave Liverpool and play abroad.
Rodriguez has four goals in 12 appearances this season, having done well in Copa Libertadores, where he faced Palmeiras, and that’s how the Brazilian side became interested in him.
Now it remains to be seen whether the City Group see him as a target for Manchester City or their other clubs. Previous reports had claimed that they put €15m on the table for the signing, but it now doesn’t seem like that actually happened.
