In their Sunday edition, Sport talk up the idea of a transfer ‘war’ taking place over Frenkie de Jong.
It’s splashed all over their front page and the idea is that Barcelona and PSG are in all-out battle to try and secure the signing of the Ajax player.
Relations between the two clubs haven’t been the best for a while, and with Adrien Rabiot’s future also thrown into the mix there’s quite a lot of bad feeling between the pair.
But they’re not the only clubs interested in signing the Dutchman, with Manchester City getting a mention in most reports detailing the transfer situation.
Mundo Deportivo says on Sunday that supporters of Barca, PSG and City are waiting ‘expectantly’ to find out if they’ve beaten the competition to secure the move, a transfer which would take place next summer.
It’s thought the player and Ajax will announce the choice of transfer soon, hence everyone waiting to know.
Pep Guardiola’s effort to sign the player is said to be ‘strong’, and Mundo Deportivo certainly don’t feel Manchester City are out of the running.
Maybe they can wait for the other two to become so distracted by their mutual bitterness that they don’t notice City sneaking in.
