Manchester City loanee Pedro Porro is the subject of another big story from Portuguese newspaper Record today. And there are two reasons for that.

The main one is his struggles with injuries. This is now the sixth time he’s had a physical issue in eight months, and besides missing Sporting’s game at the weekend, he’s also not travelling for Spain’s next matches.

Now regarding what Manchester City fans should be more interested in, it seems there were some developments in talks for his permanent move.

Record writes that Porro’s agent has been in Lisbon to sort a few details this week. Following the agreement between Sporting and the player, the Lions now work with the Premier League side on the €8.5m buying option and the potential buy-back clause.

This time it’s claimed that Manchester City could have the chance to sign Porro back for a fee of €20m, even though that hasn’t been fully agreed yet.

Although Sporting’s decision to sign Porro has been reported for a while and this week’s updates have been important, Record says the transfer should only be made official at the end of the season.

The fullback is set to sign a three-year deal with the Lions.
