Barcelona are eyeing up ‘low cost’ moves for Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette or Manchester United’s Edinson Cavani to replace Sergio Aguero in January.

Aguero is facing at least three months on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia following a scare in a recent game.

While the condition is not an overly serious one, Barcelona’s doctors have urged caution, meaning the Argentine will be spending a period on the sidelines for assessment.

That’s left Barcelona short of options upfront, and Barcelona intend to address that in the January transfer window if possible.

The problem for them is a lack of money, meaning they will have to look at potential bargain deals instead of any big-money moves.

The likes of Edinson Cavani and Alexandre Lacazette have already been named as options given their contracts at Arsenal and Manchester United end next summer.

Indeed, just yesterday, we covered a report that stated the Manchester United man was considered one of the potential ‘bargains of January’ by those in charge at the Camp Nou.

Sport now pick up on that and say Cavani, and Arsenal’s Lacazette, are two profiles that ‘could arrive at a low cost’ in the winter window.

This would be in the form or either a loan deal or a permanent transfer; with that deal something they would have to work out down the line.

It seems both are on the list at the Camp Nou, though, and with Xavi now seemingly inbound, things are going to pick up pace sooner rather than later.
