Manchester City and Sevilla have ‘exchanged documents’ for the transfer of Nolito, report Estadio Deportivo on Friday.
Originally Sevilla wanted a loan but Manchester City are wise to the Spanish club’s games. Sevilla take on loans without the best intentions, so City demanded a permanent transfer, and Estadio Deportivo believe they’ve got their way.
It’s claimed that Sevilla have been pushed into action on Nolito because of Vitolo’s exit, and ‘sooner rather than later’ the Manchester City player will be moving and meeting his new teammates in Japan.
Nolito joined Manchester City a year ago but was never able to have the impact he’d hoped for, and quickly became frustrated at his bit-part role. With that unlikely to change next season under Pep Guardiola, an exit has seemed likely for a while.
Even though they’re losing money on the 30 year old, Manchester City will surely be relieved this is a permanent deal rather than another loan mess to get into.
