Galatasaray’s new signing Fernando has spoken to the Turkish media after his move from Manchester City.

In particular Fernando spoke about his former Manchester city teammate Jason Denayer, and suggested the Belgian could join him at Galatasaray.

Fernando said, as quoted by NtvSpor: “I spoke with Denayer before my move to Turkey. He said very good things about Galatasaray and the city. He’s a quality footballer. I hope everything goes well and he’ll became a part of my team.”

These quotes will certainly refuel rumours about Denayer heading to Galatasaray, with the Turkish giants keen to sign the Belgian international.

The central defender had a loan spell with the Galatasaray during the 2015/16 season, and was close to a return to Turkey last summer, before Manchester City blocked the transfer.

Latest reports in Turkish press suggested Denayer is Galatasaray’s first choice, and talks between the two clubs are set to continue in the coming days.

Galatasaray CEO Cenk Ergun has also revealed his club are in discussions in to sign Denayer, but they still haven’t come to an agreement with Manchester City.

Fernando joined Galatasaray from Manchester City on a 3 year deal, after the Turkish giants agreed to sign the Brazilian for €5.25m.
