It appears the Boubacar Kamara saga is close to coming to an end, and Manchester City are still in with a good chance of signing the young centre-back from Marseille.

The 17-year-old has been a target for Pep Guardiola for quite some time, dating back to 2016, when reports from France suggested the Citizens had held FaceTime conversations with the youngster’s entourage in a bid to convince him to move to the north of England.

Marseille have since offered Kamara a new contract renewal offer, far superior to the one he turned down back in December, and he is currently mulling things over.

The Ligue 1 side had until the 30th of April to present him with a deal, which has now been done, and the ball is currently firmly in the defender’s court.

L’Equipe on Tuesday explain that, as things stand, Kamara is very happy in Marseille, gets along well with everyone at the club, hinting that he could stay.

He recently appeared for France’s U18s, and is continually developing at a club where he could soon have a real chance at a regular first-team spot, having already appeared for them in the Coupe de La Ligue this season.

Of course, the prospect of signing for a Premier League club like Manchester City is always enticing, and we should find out his decision in the near future.
