SporX report Fenerbahçe have joined the race to sign Manchester City winger Jesus Navas.

It’s been claimed the Turkish giants are targeting Navas due to his contract situation, as he will become a free agent at the end of the season. Navas had been thought unlikely to extend his Manchester City deal, but there have been suggestions of the opposite in recent days.

Sporx say Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, and Navas, have experienced ‘problems’ with each other this season, and that the 31-year old recently rejected a contract offer. That hasn’t been reported in England at this stage.

According to claims the main reason for Navas rejecting a contract is because he’s been played at right back by Pep Guardiola rather than on the wing.

Navas has also been linked with a move to his former club Sevilla in recent months, and that for some time has looked a likely outcome. The Spaniard has featured 52 times for City this season in all competitions, scoring one goal.

The Turkish media would love Navas to sign for Fenerbahçe, so everything will be reported on that slant.
