Since the start of the week, we’ve seen reports from the Brazilian media claiming São Paulo were interested in the signing of Manchester City defender Nahuel Ferraresi.
It was claimed the Tricolor were ‘studying’ the possibility of landing the 23-year-old, who’s expected to leave the Premier League side this summer.
The transfer, however, could turn out to be too expensive for São Paulo, according to the latest reports from Brazil.
Bolavip writes that Manchester City demand US$1m to let the player go, and would still like to keep 50% of a future sale, but the outlet says that for this amount, the move is ‘ruled out’.
The big problem is that Pep Guardiola’s side don’t seem keen on negotiating.
The story claims the club are giving no discounts because Ferraresi ‘has a market’ in Europe, where clubs who’ve been in touch for the signing apparently agree to pay that much.
São Paulo then believe the defender isn’t worth the investment, especially because this could turn into an auction.
Therefore, Manchester City will probably end up negotiating him with some other side, likely one in Europe.
