Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf report that Fenerbahce are on the verge of announcing Dick Advocaat’s exit at the end of the season. Disagreements over a renewal have led to a situation which will see Advocaat walk away from the Turkish club.
The former Sunderland manager leaving could potentially have an impact on the future of Jeremain Lens. Advocaat signed Lens whilst manager at Sunderland, and the two had previously worked together at AZ and PSV.
Therefore, it would be little surprise if Lens isn’t as keen to continue at Fenerbahce if De Telegraaf are correct and Advocaat leaves.
Lens’ future is a daily topic in the Turkish media, with Fenerbahce looking at ways they can keep the player which don’t involved paying Sunderland’s asking price.
With Fener stalling over the price, and doubt over Advocaat, Lens is likely now considering his own situation.
The chances of a Sunderland return aren’t high, given Lens’ unflattering comments since leaving the Premier League club on loan.
