Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim has urged the Super Lig club’s board to terminate Florin Andone’s contract after the Romanian striker suffered a knee injury at the start of this month against Gazisehir Gaziantep FK.
Andone took his chance when Radamel Falcao was sidelined, and the Romanian established himself as a key player for Gala.
Despite his decent start following his loan move from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, Andone’s injury means Galatasaray will be without him for the foreseeable future.
Sabah claim Terim has met with directors this week and outlined his plans for the January transfer window.
Speaking about Andone, Terim is said to have told them the Brighton striker is a great player but his injury means he won’t be available until April.
Galatasaray loaned the player for €750K during the last transfer window and previous reports in Turkey say Brighton have the option to recall him in January.
However, there’s no indication if the Istanbul side could send him back early without reaching an agreement with the Seagulls.
Given his injury setback it’s unlikely Brighton will be keen.
