Celtic’s search for a new manager has seen the Scottish Premiership club linked to endless options around Europe.
One of those is Michael Köllner, who’s also been linked with a move to Swansea City. The Welsh club have just lost Graham Potter to Brighton & Hove Albion so are in the market for a new man in charge.
Köllner was appointed as manager of FC Nürnberg in May 2017, having impressed enough with the German club’s second team. He was sacked in February of this year, and the team went on to finish bottom of the Bundesliga, losing five of their last six games, and picking up just 19 points from the season.
Reported Celtic interest has already made it to the German media, and Bild have tried to contact Köllner to ask him about potentially taking over from Neil Lennon in Glasgow or moving to Swansea.
He didn’t want to provide a comment for the newspaper, not directly anyway, but Bild point out he’s made it clear he’s been learning English ‘for quite some time’, which would be handy at either Celtic or Swansea.
